How to beat him or her: The Viridian Gym Leader is GIOVANNI, the boss of Team Rocket - this is your third and final fight with him. Water, Ice and Grass hit his Ground team hard; Rhydon takes 4x from both Water and Grass. Lapras with Surf and Ice Beam is the star. Bench Pikachu entirely - Electric does nothing to four of his five Pokemon.
