Why every reading says "unvalidated"

A compass reading is the semantic similarity of a text to the example sentences that define an axis, measured in one embedding model's space. Nobody has yet evaluated whether that model actually separates these axes, and readings produced earlier were found to be zero because of a defect rather than because of the text. Until both are resolved, every reading on this site is marked unvalidated, and a reading that was never measured is shown as unknown — never as zero.

The seven tiers do not have the same number of axes, so any summary of a tier states how many of its axes it covers. Nothing here is a verdict on a company or a person.
